“Serving the Gulf Coast Area since 1962”
 Zuehlke Drywall
About Us
Lloyd Zuehlke, the owner of Zuehlke Drywall, learned the art of drywall from his dad, Ray Zuehlke.  Ray, who began the company in 1962, built the company on quality workmanship, prompt service, and competitive pricing. Years of being in the field, and learning all aspects of the drywall trade, gives Lloyd the unique advantage of knowing what it takes to keep the customer satisfied.   Quality materials, qualified crews, and Lloyds personal supervision on every job, is what makes Zuehlke Drywall a leader in the drywall construction field.
Zuehlke Drywall is a company that specializes in New Custom Homes, Remodel and Repair. We have worked all over southeast Texas, including El Campo, Katy, Brenham, Tomball, Cypress, Magnolia, The Woodlands, Kingwood, Bellaire, West University, Houston, Needville and Rosenberg. We are a turnkey drywall company that supplies all materials and labor from installation to texture.
Our Name is the result of the founder Ray Zuehlke (pronounced zel-kee).  He knew his name was hard to say and a marketing nightmare. Not to mention, it would be the last name in the phone book!  However, it was important that his name be defined by his work.

Quality, Service, Price
Zuehlke Drywall believes in customer satisfaction.  We have been servicing the greater Houston area for over 40 years.  We have a one year warranty on all materials and labor and carry a one million dollar general liability policy. We are known for our quality craftsmanship, our excellent service, competitive price and of course our unique name.
Our Quality is the result of years of experience. We have been in business long enough to know that quality is the result of expert craftsmen and first rate materials.  One does not work without the other. We have both, and that followed up by our direct supervision adds up to a quality job.
Our Service is the result of realizing what the customer needs.  Being on time, getting the job done in a timely matter, and leaving the jobsite clean are very important to the customer and in turn important to us.  All of our crews and warranty specialists realize how important these steps are and are required to follow them.
Our Price is the result of years of understanding.  We believe the customer deserves a competitive price for the work being done. We have no hidden costs and no bait and switch mentality. Our customers receive a detailed proposal for work to be done, and work will not begin until the customer has a complete understanding of the work being done.

The Zuehlke Drywall Process
Years of experience has taught us that the following process ensures a quality outcome that our customers deserve. For more information go to

                        The Drywall Work Process
DRYWALL DELIVERY
First step in the process is scheduling the delivery of the Drywall. We prefer to deliver the drywall a few days before the actual installation begins.  The drywall will be placed throughout the project, stacked not to interfere with the other crafts on the jobsite. Areas in the yard that shouldn’t be driven on must be clearly marked. At times the weather will become an issue, which may affect the schedule. If the jobsite is locked we will need to coordinate access. (Key /combination)
INSTALLATION
The next step is the installation of the drywall. The drywall is attached on the ceilings and walls by a combination of nails and screws.  The perimeter of the drywall is attached with nails, with the center (field) attached with screws. All electrical outlets are marked on the floor with paint by the installation crew.  Therefore if you are staining your floors, you must notify us. They must be covered with deadening felt before the job begins. All drywall scrap is put on a pile outside at a place designated or put in a dumpster.
FINISHING
Finishing is the taping and floating process. The finishing crew will attach the corner bead to the drywall corners. The first step in the finish process
Is taping all the joints, followed by a “cover” float, and then a final” skim” coat.
SAND AND SPONGE
All drywall seams need to be sanded for a smooth finish. The seams will be sanded and then sponged (washed).  The sanding smooth’s the joint compound while the sponging smooth’s the drywall that may have been scratched by the sanding
TEXTURING
The application of texture is the final step.  The Texture Crew will cover all windows/doors with plastic.  All A/C ducts and ceiling fixtures are covered.

  • I own a business and Zuehlke Drywall sheet-rocked and textured our new building. They installed 36,000 sq ft within a week. Outstanding job! Fast and great quality. I would highly recommend Lloyd, Wayne and crew!
